British Airways has announced it will resume its Tel Aviv to London flights starting April 5, 2025. The airline will gradually return to service, initially operating one daily flight on this route. From April 20, British Airways plans to increase its frequency to two flights per day. This move marks a significant return for the airline, which suspended its flights to Israel in August 2024 due to the escalation in the Swords of Iron conflict.

During the suspension, British Airways extended the period of halted flights several times. However, with the situation now improving, the airline is eager to re-establish its presence in the Israeli market.

Before the suspension, British Airways operated direct flights to Tel Aviv, although, between April and August 2024, it continued services with a stopover in *Larnaca*. It remains unclear if the airline will revert to direct flights or continue with the stopover format once flights resume.

British Airways’ return to Israel follows the Lufthansa Group's announcement that it will resume flights starting February 1, 2025. This signals a broader recovery for international aviation, with more airlines preparing to follow suit. Notable carriers such as Air France and Air India are expected to resume services within the next two weeks, while Delta Airlines and Virgin Atlantic will return on March 31.

The announcement of British Airways' return has sparked optimism in the aviation industry, with analysts speculating that other European airlines may soon follow. Historically, moves by the Lufthansa Group have had a significant influence on decisions made by other carriers.

Meanwhile, Israeli airline Israir is set to launch three new direct flights from Tel Aviv to European cities starting late April 2025. The destinations include *Vilnius* in Lithuania, Debrecen in Hungary, and Basel in Switzerland. These new routes are expected to enhance travel options for Israelis looking to explore Europe, with the lowest fare to Vilnius priced at $245 per person.

Israir’s expansion comes at a time when European destinations are seeing a surge in interest. Vilnius is particularly appealing, having ranked second globally on Lonely Planet’s list of recommended destinations for 2025 and crowned Europe’s Green Capital for 2025. These flights will join low-cost carriers *Wizz Air* and Ryanair, who are also increasing their European services.

As more airlines gradually resume service, travelers can expect increased accessibility to a range of European destinations in the coming months.
