The Christians for Israel (C4I) organization in the Netherlands reported a disturbing act of vandalism at its center on Monday, allegedly carried out by activists from three pro-Palestinian groups: Extinction Rebellion, Justice Now, and Christian Collective. The groups, who claim to support Palestinian rights, spray-painted inflammatory messages on the building’s exterior, including phrases like “supporting genocide,” “child murderers,” and “complicit in the events in Gaza.”
C4I claimed that the vandalism occurred during a protest timed to coincide with the arrival of most staff members for work, leaving them caught off guard by the demonstration. The organization expressed concern that this attack was not an isolated incident, pointing to similar hostilities last summer, allegedly by the same activist groups.
The protest, which was conducted under hostile conditions, created distress for the organization’s staff, and disrupted its daily activities. Police arrived approximately 20 minutes after being called, but reportedly did not take action to secure the center for nearly three hours.
This attack comes at a time of heightened tensions, just days before C4I was set to hold a major pro-Israel demonstration in Amsterdam to show support for the city's Jewish community. This follows violent incidents, including a "Jew hunt" assault on Israeli soccer fans in Amsterdam after a recent Maccabi Tel Aviv match.
C4I representatives stressed that their organization has long supported Palestinian communities, contributing hundreds of thousands of Euros to aid Palestinian causes and foster cooperation between Arab and Jewish communities in Israel. The group emphasized that accusations of complicity in genocide are baseless and ignore their years of peaceful contributions.
Despite efforts to engage in dialogue with protesters, C4I claims these attempts have been unsuccessful, with activists resorting to misinformation and vandalism instead of constructive conversation.
Frank van Oordt, Executive Director of C4I Netherlands, expressed shock at the ongoing hostility, particularly as it comes from fellow Christians, and reaffirmed their commitment to stand firm in their support for Israel and their mission to share the biblical truth of God's plan for His people.
