In a joint effort to shape a more stable and peaceful Middle East, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Jordanian King Abdullah reaffirmed their shared stance on the reconstruction of Gaza during a phone call on Wednesday. The leaders emphasized that any rebuilding of Gaza must be done without displacing Palestinians, ensuring their rights and future stability in the region.

The conversation, as reported by Egypt's presidency, highlighted both countries’ commitment to unity on this issue. They underscored the importance of fully implementing the existing ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, which aims to prevent further escalation and promote long-term peace.

Moreover, both Egypt and Jordan expressed their desire to work closely with U.S. President Donald Trump to achieve lasting peace in the Middle East. Central to their vision is the creation of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, a long-standing aspiration for Palestinians and a crucial element in any peace agreement.

Although Trump has pushed for a plan to resettle the Palestinian population in Egypt and Jordan, both countries have repeatedly rejected such proposals. Instead, they have focused on ensuring the safety and rights of Palestinians within their territories and beyond.

In addition to the Gaza reconstruction efforts, the leaders discussed the importance of the continued release of hostages and Palestinian prisoners. They also stressed the need for sustained humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and called for an end to Israeli military actions against Palestinians in the West Bank.
