The IDF announced on Thursday that it had successfully eliminated Hussein Muhammed Awada, commander of a Hezbollah battalion, in battles with the Iranian-backed terrorist organization in and around the village of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon. He is the latest in a string of senior and mid-level Hezbollah operatives to be taken out by the IDF since this war began. Dozens of lower-level fighters and over 150 Hezbollah positions all over southern Lebanon were reportedly destroyed by the IDF in the last 24 hours.

The targets of Israeli Air Force, artillery and ground maneuvering forces included weapons warehouses, rocket launchers, and buildings used for military purposes by Hezbollah, according to the IDF statement.

The battle against Hamas in the Gaza Strip also continues amidst the offensive in southern Lebanon, with the IDF reporting multiple engagements with Hamas fighters in Rafah over the last 24 hours. Late Thursday afternoon, news began to emerge of growing suspicions that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar had been neutralized in an IDF strike, but those reports are still being investigated.
