The Israel Air Force (IAF) has successfully eliminated key commanders of Hezbollah's anti-tank missile and operations unit in the coastal sector, according to the Israeli military. These commanders were directly responsible for several terror attacks targeting Israeli civilians, including missile strikes on communities in the Western Galilee and Israel's coastal regions. The IAF also carried out extensive operations, striking over 100 terrorist targets across southern Lebanon, including weapons storage facilities, launchers, command centers, and military structures over the past day.
The IDF's continued operations come after Major-General Ori Gordin, head of the Northern Command, conducted a situational assessment in southern Lebanon. Gordin expressed satisfaction with the progress made in reducing Hezbollah's firepower and acknowledged the dedication of both active-duty soldiers and reservists involved in the offensive.
During his assessment, Gordin emphasized the importance of the ongoing efforts to create favorable conditions for the safe return of residents to northern Israel. He also highlighted the personal sacrifices made by soldiers and their families, underscoring the values that are central to Israeli society.
Meanwhile, Hezbollah's deputy leader, Naim Qassem, spoke out in a televised address, stating that a halt to hostilities now depends on Israel’s response to a ceasefire proposal. He warned that if Israeli forces continue to attack Beirut, Hezbollah would retaliate by targeting Tel Aviv, reiterating that the organization's resolve is strong. Qassem confirmed that Hezbollah would continue negotiating while fighting, asserting that the terror group would not accept humiliation.
