IDF Engaged in Deadly Battles With Hezbollah in Lebanon

On the second day of the IDF's ground incursion into southern Lebanon Wednesday, the IDF reported that 8 soldiers had been killed in action and several others wounded. This included at least three separate incidents where soldiers had engaged in battles with Hezbollah terrorists in the midst of sweeping operations which saw large stocks of rockets and other weapons captured or destroyed and dozens of terrorists eliminated.
The IDF soldiers killed in action on Wednesday were named as Capt. Eitan Oster (22), from Modi'in, Capt. Harel Etinger (23), from Eli, Capt. Itai Ariel Giat (23), from Shoham, Sgt.-Maj. Noam Barzilay (22), from Kokhav Ya'ir, Sgt.-Maj. Or Mantzur (21), from Beit Aryeh, Sgt.-Maj. Nazar Itkin (21), from Kiryat Ata, St.-Sgt. Almken Terefe (21), from Jerusalem and St.-Sgt. Ido Broyer (21), from Ness Ziona.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Air Force aircraft reported that they had struck Hezbollah's Intelligence Headquarters in Beirut on Thursday. A great deal of damage was done to Hezbollah's war-fighting capacity by these strikes, according to an after-action assessment.
Finally, the Lebanese National Army reportedly fired at IDF troops after two of their soldiers were hit by Israeli fire.
