The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have made significant strides in its ongoing 15-month multi-front war, seizing over 170,000 military items. Most of these items were seized from Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon, marking crucial gains in the ongoing conflict.

As of December 7, the IDF has also focused its efforts on Syria, seizing around 3,300 military items from the country, adding to the volume of Syrian military items destroyed in early December. The seized items include tanks, rocket-propelled grenades, shells, mortars, and surveillance equipment.

The IDF Division 210, operating in Syria, seized 1,500 rocket or RPG-type items, 570 electronic military devices, 165 larger rockets and shells, 20 anti-aircraft missiles, and additional weapons. These seizures are part of Israel’s ongoing military strategy to disrupt enemy supplies and capabilities in the region.

Meanwhile, in Lebanon, during the invasion, the IDF seized 85,170 military items from over 30 villages in southern Lebanon. Among these items are 2,250 larger rockets, 6,840 smaller anti-tank missiles, and 340 advanced Kornet missiles. Also included were 60 anti-aircraft missiles and 20 vehicles with the capacity to launch multiple rockets at once. The IDF also confiscated 9,000 improvised explosives, 5,560 guns, and more than 60,800 electronic items and documents.

As the war progresses and diplomatic talks intensify, especially with a potential hostage deal with Hamas on the horizon and a ceasefire already reached with Hezbollah, the IDF's announcement appears to be signaling its confidence in the conflict's outcomes. While the war could end soon, the massive stockpiles of seized military items suggest a pivotal moment in Israel's security strategy.

In a related story, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has officially phased in the advanced "Bar" guided rocket into its Artillery Corps, marking a significant upgrade over the previously used "Romach" rockets. The announcement was made on Tuesday, highlighting the new rocket's enhanced capabilities and its role in improving precision targeting on the battlefield.

For the last decade, the Romach rockets were the standard in the IDF's arsenal, able to hit targets up to 35 kilometers away with an accuracy range of under ten meters. However, the new Bar rocket, produced by Elbit Systems, offers even greater reach and accuracy, with a more sophisticated navigation system tailored for diverse combat environments.

The Bar rocket is designed for precise target strikes, which is crucial in the modern battlefield where collateral damage must be minimized, and every strike counts.

Real-World Impact on Ground Operations

Captain S., commander of Battalion 334 in the 282nd Division, shared an example of the Bar rocket’s effectiveness in real-world operations. She recounted a scenario in which a soldier on the ground in Gaza spotted a terrorist with an anti-tank missile on the upper floor of a building. Within seven minutes, the Bar rocket struck the exact location with minimal deviation, illustrating the rocket's speed and precision in targeting threats.

The Bar rocket has already been deployed in operational missions. Captain S. recalled its first use in August, targeting Hezbollah terror infrastructure in southern Lebanon. The IDF successfully destroyed key Hezbollah positions, including observation posts, anti-tank positions, and weapons depots.
