On Saturday evening, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the Israel Air Force carried out a strike in the Mount Dov (Shaba Farms) area, situated on the border between Israel and Lebanon. The strike targeted three suspects, who had been identified while moving toward Israeli territory. The military emphasized that this operation was conducted in accordance with the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon.
This strike comes amid continued military activity by the IDF in southern Lebanon, including a previous operation on Wednesday where weapons being loaded onto a vehicle inside a Hezbollah military compound were targeted. The IDF also reported significant findings during defensive operations by the 769th Brigade, including the discovery of a multi-barrel rocket launcher, mortar shells, RPGs, and anti-tank missile positions in a village in southern Lebanon.
The IDF has maintained its commitment to the ceasefire agreement, but the situation remains fluid as it continues to address weapons caches and other military threats within Lebanon. It remains unclear whether Israel will fully withdraw from Lebanon by the conclusion of the 60-day ceasefire on January 26.
