Israel Issues Strong Warning to Hezbollah as Ceasefire Deadline Approaches

Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stark warning on Sunday, stating that severe consequences would follow if Hezbollah fails to withdraw beyond the Litani River, a key condition of the ceasefire agreement signed in November. Katz emphasized that Israel would take unilateral action to ensure the safety of northern residents if Hezbollah does not comply with the terms, marking a potential escalation in the already fragile situation on Israel's northern border.

The warning comes as the 60-day ceasefire, negotiated to curb hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, nears its end on January 26.
