Five Israeli defense companies participated in the prestigious Euronaval exhibition in France, marking a significant presence just days after the Paris Commercial Court overturned a French government decision to bar them from the event. The court's ruling came after a petition by the Manufacturers Association of Israel, Israel Shipyards, and the Israel-France Chamber of Commerce. The companies represented were Israel Shipyards, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, Orbit Technologies, DSIT Solutions, and Orca AI.

Israel Shipyards Unveils Advanced Naval Vessels

At the exhibition, Israel Shipyards introduced its Mini-Shaldag fast patrol vessel. Measuring 20 meters in length, this high-speed craft is designed for protecting coastlines and naval forces operating in rivers and lakes. It is equipped with advanced communication, detection systems, and weaponry capable of operating in shallow waters.

Additionally, Israel Shipyards showcased its new S80 combat vessel. Set to enter service with the Israel Navy in the coming years, the S80 is designed for complex operations on the high seas, enhancing the navy's operational capabilities.

Rafael and Orbit Technologies Present Cutting-Edge Systems

Rafael Advanced Defense Systems presented the Typhoon remote naval weapon system, known for its ability to intercept drones, enhancing maritime security against aerial threats.

Orbit Technologies showcased a compact satellite antenna weighing just 10 kilograms, intended for submarines and fast vessels. This innovation aims to improve communication systems in naval operations.

Industry Leaders Respond to Legal Triumph

During the opening ceremony of Israel Shipyards' pavilion, Dr. Ron Tomer, president of the Manufacturers Association, remarked on the legal victory:

"The French government tried again, for the second time, to prevent Israeli companies from participating in a strategic defense exhibition while discriminating against them in favor of other participating companies. We have proven that we cannot be defeated. We will not let them push us down and exclude us without fighting back."

Eitan Zucker, CEO of Israel Shipyards, added:

"Since the decision to allow the participation of Israeli companies, we have received many requests from representatives from all over the world to meet at the Israel Shipyards pavilion. Putting politics aside, representatives of various navies appreciate the quality of the advanced vessels manufactured in Israel."

German Leopard 2 Tanks Equipped with Israeli Trophy System

In a related development, the Israeli Defense Ministry announced the launch of the first German Leopard 2 tank equipped with the Israeli-made "Trophy" active protection system on October 29. Designed by Rafael, the Trophy system has been operational since 2011, with over 2,000 units deployed worldwide.

The integration of the Trophy system into the Leopard 2 tanks is part of ongoing agreements between the Israeli and German defense ministries. In 2021, both countries signed an agreement to upgrade existing Leopard 2 tanks with this advanced protection technology. The launching ceremony was attended by Vice Admiral Carsten Stawitzki, Head of the Directorate-General for Equipment within the German Federal Ministry of Defence.

The Israeli Defense Ministry stated:

"This ceremony symbolizes the close cooperation between the German and Israeli governments and follows other deals worth billions of dollars, including the sale of the Israeli 'Arrow 3' system."

Israeli Forces Utilize FPV Drones Against Hezbollah Positions

In a notable development in military tactics, Israeli forces have started using First-Person View (FPV) drones to conduct targeted strikes on Hezbollah positions and equipment in Lebanon. These drones offer precise and cost-effective methods for engaging targets in challenging environments, providing operators with real-time video feeds for accurate strikes against equipment and fortified positions.

While large-scale deployment of FPV drones by Israeli forces has not been widely observed in Lebanon or Gaza, their targeted use signifies an evolving strategy in the region. FPV drones have gained popularity in modern conflicts due to their versatility and effectiveness in precise attacks.
