In the quiet hours before dawn on Saturday, Israeli naval commandos from Shayetet 13 executed a meticulously planned mission in the coastal city of Batroun, northern Lebanon. They successfully captured Emad Fadel Amhaz, a senior Hezbollah operative reportedly involved in naval operations. Amhaz, who is also said to be part of the Lebanese Navy. He was succesfully transferred to Israeli territory and is currently being interrogated by Unit 504, the elite military intelligence unit specializing in human intelligence gathering.
Reports indicate that over 25 commandos were involved in the operation, discreetly entering a cabin near the beach where Amhaz was alone, executing the mission without civilian casualties. Lebanese media, citing local officials, suggested that the operation was conducted in coordination with German naval forces operating under UNIFIL, although official confirmation of this is pending.
Adding to the unfolding narrative, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that they have eliminated several key Hezbollah figures in southern Lebanon. Among them was Faruk Amin El-Asi, a commander in the Khiam area, who was held accountable for orchestrating rocket launches targeting the Galilee Panhandle, particularly the town of Metulla. Another high-ranking figure, Yussef Ahmed Nun, a squadron commander of the elite Radwan Forces in the same region, was also neutralized. Nun led the squad responsible for firing numerous projectiles toward northern Israel and IDF troops in the area.
The IDF reported that additional Radwan operatives were eliminated in close-quarters combat and aerial strikes. The Radwan Forces are recognized as Hezbollah's elite unit, trained for specialized operations and posing a significant threat along the border.
