Israeli political figures and Jewish organizations celebrated Donald Trump’s victory in the 2024 U.S. presidential election, viewing it as a renewal of the close ties between Israel and the United States. Israeli leaders expressed hope for strengthened partnerships on security, economic, and diplomatic fronts.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated Trump, calling it “history’s greatest comeback.” He described Trump’s return as “a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America.”
Incoming Defense Minister Israel Katz pledged cooperation with Trump’s administration, expressing optimism about efforts to secure the release of hostages and confront “the axis of evil led by Iran.”
President Isaac Herzog praised Trump as “a true and dear friend of Israel” and a “champion of peace and cooperation” in the region, affirming his commitment to further strengthening the U.S.-Israel relationship. Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich posted, “God bless Israel, God bless America.”
Additional Reactions from Israeli Leaders
Education Minister Yoav Kisch welcomed Trump with a post saying, “Welcome back, Mr. President!” Energy Minister Eli Cohen highlighted the critical times ahead, stating his belief in Trump’s ability to restore stability, expand the Abraham Accords, and counter Iran’s influence in the region. Culture Minister Miki Zohar added, “We are looking forward to the next four years.”
Otzma Yehudit MK Almog Cohen declared Trump’s win a “Total victory!” while Yisrael Beytenu MK Oded Forer expressed confidence in Trump’s continued support for Israel’s security and prosperity.
Republican Jewish Coalition Celebrates Trump’s “Greatest Comeback”
The Republican Jewish Coalition (RJC) was among the first organizations to extend congratulations, calling Trump’s win the “greatest political comeback in U.S. history.”
RJC leaders, CEO Matt Brooks and National Chairman Senator Norm Coleman, commended Trump’s victory as a win for “American strength, leadership, and prosperity.”
The RJC emphasized its role in supporting Trump’s campaign, spending over $15 million to mobilize Jewish voters across the country.
In their statement, the RJC attributed Trump’s success to the disillusionment of Jewish voters with the Democratic Party, claiming that the Biden-Harris administration had failed to support Israel during its ongoing conflict with Iran and its proxies.
A Renewed U.S.-Israel Alliance
Trump’s win has reinvigorated hopes for a strengthened U.S.-Israel alliance, with Israeli leaders looking forward to enhanced cooperation on security, regional stability, and shared values. As Trump prepares to take office, both nations appear poised to deepen their partnership and confront regional challenges together.
