Magen David Adom announced that it had treated 2,842 people across Israel during Yom Kippur, including three people who were wounded by shrapnel from rocket fire directed at the Western Galilee and twelve people who fell while running to protected spaces during rocket alerts. 1,969 people required hospitalization over the Yom Kippur holiday, with many of them fainting or having become dehydrated due to the fast.
As happens every year, over 500 people were injured while partaking in the tradition of riding bicycles, skateboards, inline skates and scooters in the empty streets, but there were dozens of people who were injured in accidents involving motor vehicles.
146 women also gave birth on Yom Kippur and required assistance from Magen David Adom. One woman gave birth to her baby in the ambulance that was taking her to the hospital in Modiin Ilit.
