The Ukrainian Air Force has shared historic photographs showing the successful interception of Russian cruise missiles by Mirage 2000 fighter jets on March 7, 2025, during a major Russian airstrike on Ukraine. The French-supplied Mirage 2000 fighters shot down Kh-101 cruise missiles over Ukrainian airspace, a crucial defense effort amid ongoing conflict.

According to Ukraine's Air Force, the Russian Federation launched a large-scale aerial assault on Ukraine that night. Despite the intensity of the attack, Ukrainian air defenses demonstrated remarkable capability, destroying 34 enemy missiles and 100 drones. An additional 86 unmanned aerial vehicles failed to hit their targets, underscoring the effectiveness of Ukraine's defense systems.

In another significant defense development, South Korea is set to finalize a major arms deal with Poland, further strengthening military ties between the two nations. The new agreement, valued at approximately 9 trillion won ($6.2 billion), will see the export of 180 K2 Black Panther main battle tanks to Poland. This deal builds on a previous agreement signed in 2022, which provided Poland with a range of South Korean military hardware, including K2 tanks, K9 self-propelled howitzers, FA-50 light attack aircraft, and Chunmoo multiple rocket launchers.

Although initial negotiations for the second deal faced delays, including political instability in South Korea and disagreements between Poland's government and a local defense contractor, both nations are now working to expedite the process. The new agreement highlights Poland’s continued reliance on South Korean defense equipment as it modernizes its military.
