Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has accused the United States and Israel of masterminding the events that led to the fall of former Syrian president Bashar al-Assad. According to Iranian state news agency IRNA, Khamenei asserted that the collapse of Assad’s regime was the result of a joint American-Zionist conspiracy.

Khamenei emphasized that while Syria’s neighbors played a role in the situation, the primary architects of the plan were the US and Israel. “We have evidence,” he said, adding that the evidence leaves "no room for doubt."

The Supreme Leader also made bold statements regarding the strength of Iran and its regional resistance. Khamenei expressed confidence that the pressure on Iran and its allies would only strengthen the resistance movement across the Middle East. He declared, "The more pressure is applied, the stronger it becomes. The more atrocities are committed, the more motivated it becomes."

Khamenei went on to criticize analysts who suggested that the weakening of Iran’s regional allies would also weaken the Islamic Republic itself. He emphasized that Iran remains strong and would grow even more powerful with God’s help.

Internal Strife Within Iran’s Military Leadership

Meanwhile, internal strife within Iran’s military leadership has surfaced, with Iranian officials reportedly blaming each other for the fall of the Assad regime. The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is said to be in disarray, with officials blaming one another for the failure to maintain Assad's regime, which was seen as crucial for Iran’s “axis of resistance” against Israel.

Sources revealed that tensions were high among IRGC members, with angry confrontations and finger-pointing. Some IRGC officials are particularly critical of Brig. Gen. Esmail Qaani, the commander of Iran’s Quds Force, for his failure to prevent the regime’s collapse.

“The atmosphere is like something between almost punching each other, punching the walls, yelling at each other and kicking rubbish bins. They are blaming each other, and no one is taking responsibility,” an anonymous Iranian official told the Telegraph news portal.

The Impact on Iran’s Regional Influence

The fall of the Assad regime has significant consequences for Iran, as Syria served as a vital route for arms shipments to Hezbollah. With the collapse of Assad’s government, Iran's ability to arm Hezbollah has been severely hampered, complicating the situation for Tehran.

The IRGC's internal turmoil comes amid growing concerns over Iran’s regional influence, with officials acknowledging that Iran is facing one of its weakest moments in decades. The future of the "resistance project" in the region remains uncertain, with experts warning that Iran’s position is more vulnerable than ever.
