Magen David Adom confirmed on Thursday evening that two people were killed by shrapnel from incoming rocket fire in an olive grove near Gil'am junction in northern Israel. The rockets were part of a barrage fired by Hezbollah at the Haifa bayside suburbs area, and it came a few hours after another barrage hit an agricultural area in Metulla, killing five people. Several others were wounded in the two incidents.
"We were called to the olive grove and saw a man in his 30s lying on the ground, unconscious," said a statement from MDA, regarding the later incident. "We began resuscitation efforts while conducting further searches, during which we located another casualty, also in critical condition with multi-system injuries. We provided her with medical treatment and performed resuscitation, but unfortunately, we had to pronounce both of them dead."
In Metulla, the victims were an Israeli farmer and four foreign workers
