After years of speculation regarding the health of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his office has released a comprehensive medical report providing transparency about his health status. The document, signed by Netanyahu’s personal physician, Dr. Tzvi Herman Berkowitz, along with specialists from Hadassah Medical Center, clarifies key health concerns and dispels rumors circulating about his condition.
According to the report, Netanyahu does not have prostate cancer, contrary to some of the speculation in the media. While he has undergone surgery to remove his prostate gland, it was found to be benign, and the issue was non-cancerous. However, Netanyahu is still dealing with a urinary tract infection following the procedure, which he is currently treating with antibiotics.
The detailed medical report also highlights that Netanyahu is in good overall health. Key health indicators such as blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure levels are all within normal ranges, and comprehensive lab tests including liver and kidney functions and blood counts are all normal.
The report also addressed Netanyahu’s cardiac health, revealing that he had a pacemaker implanted in July 2023. Since the procedure, there have been no signs of arrhythmias or other heart issues, and the pacemaker is functioning properly. Netanyahu has been under regular cardiological supervision and has no restrictions on physical activity.
Furthermore, the report disclosed that Netanyahu underwent surgery in April 2024 to repair a right inguinal hernia, which was identified during a full-body CT scan. The scan also revealed an enlarged prostate, small bladder stones, and some bladder obstruction, which were addressed during subsequent procedures.
In line with health guidelines, Netanyahu undergoes regular colonoscopy screenings to detect any potential precancerous growths. His most recent colonoscopy was normal, providing further reassurance regarding his health.
The publication of this medical report comes as a welcome update to many, especially after Netanyahu’s visibly tired appearance during a public Knesset session shortly after undergoing prostate surgery.
